Hack a Servo Motor

When i began with development of a Two wheel bot, the problem i faced was to find a dc motor with zero or almost no backlash(or what i call ‘play’). This backlash amplifies when i increase the diameter of the wheel.

I kinda wanted an RC servo type characteristic in a DC motor. Or to put in other words i wanted a RC servo motor capable of spinning continuously. (For those who are unaware, an RC servo can move from 0-180 degrees only. It is generally used in robotic arms, humanoids etc)

As i realized, it is not difficult to modify an RC servo into a DC motor.
